Derivan MiNiS
Derivan MiNiS are a range of acid-free, archival-quality acrylic paints that have been scientifically formulated for model and miniature painters. There are 72 colours available in the MiNiS range, all formulated in consultation with leading gaming enthusiasts. They are highly opaque for excellent coverage, and all intermixable for unlimited hues and shades. Their easy dispensing cap allows the smallest amount of paint to be placed on your palette.
The MiNiS range also includes a number of inks and mediums for a variety of effects and applications.
MiNiS can be applied to most surfaces including plastic, metal, wood, paper, carboard, canvas, and stone. For useful tips and further information, see the Surface Preparation page in our Techniques section.

Derivan MiNiS Mediums
Drying Retarder slows the drying time of paint to allow for more blending time. use a maximum of 5% Drying Retarder to the paint.
Surface Tension Breaker improves the flow of the paint and is useful for fine detail work and airbrushing by mixing nine parts water with one part Surface Tension Breaker to the paint.
Iridescent Medium mixed with MiNiS colours will make them look metallic.
Ink Medium should be used to thin inks without losing adhesion and colour intensity
Primers are available in black and white and provide the perfect surface preparation.
Gloss and Matt Varnish produce a strong, tack-free clear film that will protect and enhance colours beneath. Use Matt Varnish when a very matt finish is required. Both may be combined to create a satin varnish.

Clean Up
Wash all utensils, brushes and hands with soap and water to clean up. Wash stains out immediately with cold water and household soap, taking care not to spread the stain.
